Johannes van Vermeer y Anthon van Leeuwenhoek remain among the greatest genious in Art and Science respectively. Both are main stars in the Golden Ducht Century ( XVII ), as they did innovative advances : Vermeer, in painting, created a new intimate view of persons, specially women, giving to light and wonderful details a great development. Leeuwenhoek, friend of Vermeer, influenced him probably in using obscure camera in his works. In spite of having no formal academic education he did remarkably and still extremely relevant discoveries with the use of microscope. He showed for first time to the eye man spermatozoids, red blood cells, brain, nerve and muscle structure and described many living animals. These two brilliant contemporary Dutch men have made a great contribution to our civilization.
